Hailed by many as 'the best' UK Garage DJ around, EZ's impressive climb through the ranks started at the age of 15 on pirate radio where his talent and hard work quickly established him as one of the most sought after DJs in Europe. This has rapidly transformed into EZ's current weekly show on Kiss 100 FM that has been going from strength to strength for the past five years. Mix compilation success, and the subsequent remix offers that followed, have opened doors to another of EZ's ambitions in the shape of 'Z Productions' and his very own label 'One Recordings' formerly known as Z Recordings.
EZ's dynamic mixing skills were then unleashed on Freak FM, where he stayed for a further 4 years becoming, undoubtedly, the biggest DJ to come from the Freak FM stable. In November 1999 a major ambition was realised when he was offered a show on Kiss FM. He now has an established slot on Kiss Every from Friday 10pm - 12am. In the year 2000 after 1 year of being on Kiss, EZ was entered in the Kiss 100's top DJs of the year at no. 9.
Alongside his radio career, his popularity as a club DJ has secured many accolades from clubbers and industry figures alike. Winning 'Club DJ of the Year' at the '98 'Underground Garage Awards', Best DJ at the Exposure Valentines Awards in '99, 'Public's Best DJ' and 'Industry Best DJ' at the 2000 UK Garage Awards together with 2 placings in DJ Magazine's 'Top 100 DJs in the World', and being the only UK Garage DJ to be selected as 'DJ of the Month' by Muzik Magazine.
Over the last few years his popularity with the crowd and pioneering mixing style has resulted in an ever-increasing schedule of bookings all over the UK and Europe. Working with top promoters, his talents have graced the decks at major clubs throughout the UK and Europe.
The popularity of this first compilation kick started a string of offers.
In February 2000, EZ mixed the first 'Pure Garage' compilation for Warner Music, which went platinum and peaked at no. 2 in the national compilation charts. Pure Garage II, III, IV & V have subsequently been released along with a new spin on the series - Bass Breaks & Beats which was released in early December 2001.
His talent behind the decks and sublime production skills have earned EZ many offers for remixing work from major and independent labels from across the globe. In 2000 EZ formed 'Z Productions' and in 2002 set up 'Z Recordings' which, for legal reasons, later became known as 'One Recordings'.
Awards received in 2001 included 'People's Favourite DJ' at the UKG Awards 2001 and 'Best Garage/2 Step DJ at the 2001 Ibiza Awards at Pacha and in 2002 he also picked up another 'Best DJ' award at the Sidewinder Peoples Choice UK Garage Awards.
As a result of your votes, DJ EZ picked up 3 more awards at the UKPCMA ceremony on Saturday the 18th of September 2004 at the Ocean Music Arena in Hackney, London. Ez won the awards for 'Best DJ 2004', 'Best Old School DJ 2004' and 'Best Radio Show 2004'. Ez also came in 4th as 'Best 4/4 Producer'
(which is very surprising when you consider the competition and the amount of tracks that EZ has released!!) and EZ's events Z Uncut and 4by4 came in 3rd in the Best Event category.
